The Pudgy Penguins NFT collection has announced the launch of a web3 game called Pudgy World, developed on the Layer-2 zkSync Era network.
Pudgy World is considered the next phase of the project, transitioning from a collection of NFT profile pictures (PFP) to the gaming metaverse.

This announcement comes at a time when the project is experiencing some success. According to data from Opensea, the floor price of Pudgy Penguins NFTs has nearly doubled in the past two weeks. Additionally, Pudgy Toy stuffed animals are being sold at 2,000 Walmart stores across the United States.
It is known that the alpha version of Pudgy World will be open to all players and is expected to launch in Q1/2024. However, NFT holders and Pudgy Toy buyers will receive more unique privileges and promotions in the game world.
Currently, there is not much information about the game, except that there will be two “hero characters,” Pudgy and Peaches, who will “guide players through endless adventures.”
The project shares the reason for choosing to build on the zkSync blockchain: “Because zkSync is the first and fastest zkEVM, capable of scaling Ethereum, it provides favorable conditions for access to one million developers and one billion users. zkSync is the only blockchain that can support and reinforce the success of Pudgy World and the Pudgy community in introducing blockchain technology to the next generation of mobile gamers.”
